Fall List
Daughter (with her new short hair - she's wearing the scarf because she's not used to her neck being cold) walked outside this morning and claimed that it smelled different. I informed her that smell is fall coming. It amazes me how much kids tune into and stay in the moment. It also inspires me to do the same. I dare say that I'm learning as much from my kids as they're learning from me (but that's another post for another day). When we were standing at the bus stop we decided that we should make a fall list. This can be added to or deleted at any time as we are flexible around this house. I don't think she'll give up the pumpkin patch though, no matter how many pumpkins are growing in the compost.
- corn maze (did not make it this year)
- pumpkin patch (Daughter)
- make pumpkin butter
- freeze lots of pumpkin puree
- camp just one more time
- balloon rally
- octoberfest
- trick or treating (Daughter has had their costumes picked out for a year.)
- parade with cousins
- friday night outdoor movie at the park (too cold to actually do - maybe next year the city will have these in the summer)
- bike rides- won't happen as the bike needs to be fixed :(
- more walks in the park to see the leaves change color (see here, here, and here)
- see long lost relatives - okay, they're not really lost they just live far away (not enough time off for Husband)
- make pumpkins spice latte because I am too cheap for Starbucks
- can a bushel (or two) of tomatoes
- make and can pickled green tomatoes (5 more pints done, plus 4 pints cherry tomatoes)
- make my own applesauce (first time for that)
- make one more batch of salsa (done but not blogged about)
- make two more batches of sauce (done but not blogged about)
- taffy apple from Riverside Chocolate Factory (Daughter)
- apple picking
